The Stanley Building takes an historic King’s Cross design and creates contemporary Work Space with strong sustainability credentials.

TOG preserved one of the last remaining examples of Victorian accommodation built for railway workers, with a modern wrap-around extension that respects the buildings historic core. We collaborated with Studio Downie Architects and Studio Mackereth on The Stanley Building, creating a range of different areas to work and focus – including raised platforms in the industrial-inspired lounge.

The wrap-around extension designed by TOG and Studio Downie Architects creates a modern shell contrasting with the Victorian core. Dubbed the ‘Stanley Swap’, this extension brings plentiful natural light into the space, which is further enhanced by a sustainability focused lighting design system.
